'No plan' for Carnalway Road works

Kildare County Council have no plans to resurface the Carnalway Road during 2022, writes Brian Byrne.

That was the response to a question by Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer at the monthly meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District, held last Wednesday.

This is a disappointment to users of the busy road, especially cyclists and pedestrians, as there was a commitment last year that the work would be carried out during 2021. 

The surface and footpaths of the Logstown section were renewed 15 months ago, but the section to Carnalway Cross is broken and rough in many parts.
