Parish Feis held yesterday
These eight Kilcullen girls were among some 300 who took part in the Kilcullen Parish Feis yesterday, writes Brian Byrne.
Fortunately the snow surprise didn't come until later in the afternoon, so most of the competition had been completed.
The Feis has been run by the Landers family for more than four decades in aid of Parish funds. It started out as one of the events held in the marquee during Kilcullen's annual Carnival, later moved to the JFK Hall, and is now a regular event in the Community Centre.
The first one raised £59, but these days the day raises several thousand euro for the Parish.
(The event was cancelled last year owing to the death of Mary Keane, nee Landers.)
