Today is Cemetery Sunday in Kilcullen. There will be prayers in St Brigid's Cemetery at 2pm, and a Mass will be celebrated in New Abbey at 3pm.

Painting church will require fundraising

Kilcullen Parish Church in November 2022, during the 150th anniversary celebrations.

Options for a fundraising campaign for painting Kilcullen Parish Church are to be discussed next month, writes Brian Byrne. The project is expected to cost up to €90,000.

In the meantime, several improvements have been made to the Parish Centre. These include replacing 43 lights with more energy-efficient units, painting the hallway and toilets, and providing a new carpet in the Parish Office.

Fr Gary Darby told parishioners yesterday that the remaining rooms in the centre will also be painted in due course.

Old Kilcullen Memorial Mass

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Kilcullen Parish Church next Sunday, 29 June, for the deceased families and friends of Old Kilcullen.

The Mass at 11am. will be followed by a Rosary at Old Kilcullen cemetery at 12:30pm.

All are welcome at this time to remember, reflect, and pray together as a community.
