Though it's not on any route used daily by our local people, there's a strong Kilcullen connection to Ireland's newest railway station, at Woodbrook near Bray, writes Brian Byrne. It was built by a Kilcullen-based company, John Cradock Ltd.
Located between Bray and Shankhill, it's the first new station in 15 years. It consists of two 174m-long platforms with associated passenger shelters, seating, lighting, CCTV, customer information, bicycle parking and ticketing facilities
Dart services began serving Woodbrook yesterday morning.
