Brave account from Shamrocks U14s
In a very hard-fought County Final the Shamrocks lads gave a great account of themselves against a very physical and mobile Athy team, writes Martin Sheridan. But it wasn't to be their day, with the final score Shamrocks 2-8 and Athy 2-13.
The lads representing the Shamrocks, from Kilcullen, Athgarvan and Two Mile House, fought for every ball from the start to the finish.
It was a great achievement to reach a County Final and they're looking forward to next year already with the majority of the panel eligible for Under-14 again.
Many thanks for the great support we received from our growing band of supporters. It was great to hear the encouragement we received before and after the final whistle. Much appreciated by all the players and the Shamrocks mentors.
All in all a very positive year for the South Kildare Shamrocks.
