Artist's Well talks to conservator Mary McGrath

Those aware of the large tapestry painting at the back of the altar in Kilcullen Church may be interested to know that it was cleaned and repaired in recent years by conservator Mary McGrath, who lives in Athgarvan, writes Brian Byrne.
Mary trained originally as an Art Conservator at the Courtauld Institute, London University and at the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University. She has worked in England, France, Italy and the United States as well as in Ireland, where she has worked inter alia for the Irish Museum of Modern Art, The Hugh Lane Gallery and the National Gallery of Ireland and for many other institutional and private clients.
She was recently the subject for an interview (above) by Alan Keane, a portrait artist who also runs the weekly Artists's Well programme on Zoom and Youtube, featuring individuals in all disciplines of the Arts and those connected with or working in the Arts.
For anyone interested in art and art conservation, this is a worthwhile watch. Below are the Diary's reports on her work in Kilcullen.
