Today is Daffodil Day — help the Irish Cancer Society

A reminder that today is Daffodil Day, but the annual street collection for the Irish Cancer Society has again been cancelled due to the Covid situation, writes Brian Byrne.

Local organiser Trish Dowling is asking people to donate as usual by buying silk daffodils in the local shops where they are available. "The shops at our usual locations have generously taken the boxes into their premises," she says.

Also, teachers, students, and parents and guardians at Cross and Passion College are undertaking a 5K walk or run today to fundraise for Daffodil Day.

Participants are donating to CPC's Daffodil Day Virtual Collection. Anyone can join in, and send a photo of themselves walking or a screenshot of their run for the CPC Facebook page.
