National Slow Down Day today

Today is National Slow Down Day, and there will be a national speed enforcement operation in place by the Gardai, writes Brian Byrne.

The operation runs from 7am this morning for 24 hours, against the background of 148 road deaths in 2020. As of  23/03/2021 there have been 20 road fatalities, down 26 compared to same date last year.

The overall objective is to reduce the number of speed related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.
