Danger from Milemill Road traffic hits home

This photograph sent to the Diary shows the aftermath of a recent traffic incident at Old Carlow Road, when a local man ended up in hospital after his car was in a collision with a car coming from the Milemill direction, writes Brian Byrne.

The road from Brannockstown to this junction has been highlighted as dangerous several times lately.

It is being used as a diversion road by motorists at peak times, and there have been a number of complaints of minor collisions and near misses.

Prior to her election, now-councillor Tracey O’Dwyer received a commitment from Kildare County Council to have a speed survey of traffic going through Brannockstown.
