Speed, safety concern on Nicholastown road

A local resident who uses the Old Carlow Road to Milemill Cross route regularly has highlighted it as having become very dangerous in recent times, writes Brian Byrne.

It particularly seems to be an issue between 4pm-7pm, and this correspondent reports having lost a mirror and had two 'near misses' in the last two weeks.

"These were from cars coming around corners on the wrong side of the road at speed, and on phones!" he says. "Most of these cars are not familiar with the road but are traveling at speed. Some sort of presence from the Garda is required before something serious happens."

Our correspondent also points out that the road has walkers out and about, especially with the longer evenings.
