Tree-naming invitation
Families in Kilcullen have been invited to have one of the trees being planted tomorrow named for their family, writes Brian Byrne.
The invitation is from the Tree Council of Ireland, which is providing 700 trees for the event that will run from 11am to 2pm, at the site near the Mill Stream.
The tree-planting is part of the National Tree Week, which this year is under the theme of 'Planting for our Planet', and is also part of the Kilcullen 700 celebrations.
A number of the trees have already been planted by Third Class pupils in Scoil Bhride, and with the Second Year students of Woodwork in CPC.
Everybody in the community is welcome to attend at any part of the planting session, which will also have as guest the wildlife expert Eanna Ni Lamhna.
