Santa kicks off Halverstown Christmas

It can be said that Séasúr na Nollag has properly arrived when Santa pays a pre-Christmas visit to St Joseph's NS on the first day of December, writes Brian Byrne. Which he did yesterday, meeting the children and teachers who had come along to help with the school's Christmas Fair.
No Rudolph or Prancer or Dancer et al, though, who are all resting up in advance of their big travel night later in the month — instead, Kilcullen Gardai provided the transportation.
Lots of edible goodies and festive craftworks were available to keep the adults occupied while Santa listened to the children in his grotto, committing all their requests to his amazing memory.
Photos from a lovely afternoon provided by St Joseph's, as the Diary was unable to make the occasion.
