Planning application for 180 homes Kilcullen development

Vehicles access point from the left on New Abbey Road.

A planning application is being lodged for a 180 homes development at New Abbey Road, Nicholastown, Kilcullen, writes Brian Byrne. The application is by Oakway Homes.
The proposal comprises 152 houses, 20 duplexes, and eight apartments. The development includes a creche, two healthcare facilities and commercial spaces and offices along with all ancillary works.
The houses proposed are a mix of 2- and 3-storey in semi-detached and terraced formats.
The access to the development will be by two entrances on the New Abbey Road, the nearest of which will be where there is a currently disused agricultural yard and buildings beside Kilcullen Parish Centre. The developer is proposing cycle and pedestrian access via Sunbury Close.
Full details will be available at Kildare County Council's Planning portal, and on a dedicated website being set up by the developer.
