Looking Back: Kilcullen in the 1960s

Interesting postcard of Kilcullen Main Street from the 1960s, courtesy of PJ Lydon, shows on the left PG Dowling's petrol and motor repairs, JJ Quinn's confectionery shop, two dwelling houses, then Byrne & Co Ltd Hardware and Drapery.
Beside that is Nora and Peg Byrne's Grocery and Bar, then Miss Kenny's shop, and (hidden by the bus) Orford's drapery. On the right is Orford's Knockaulin Bar on the corner, down from it Orford's butcher stall and (I think) the sweetshop run by Miss Hayes.
Note the plethora of bicycles parked in front of the pub and further down on the left and those in use by the gentleman on the corner and the other riding down the street (he wouldn't be able to ride so carefree there today).
