Brian Cody for Kilcullen launch of transplant games team kit
A reminder that legendary Kilkenny hurler and club manager Brian Cody will formally launch the Ireland Team Kit for the European Transplant & Dialysis Sports Championships, at an event in Kilcullen Community Centre tomorrow, Sunday, writes Brian Byrne.
The kit is being sponsored by the Punchestown Kidney Research Fund (PKRF) founded by Kilcullen's James Nolan, kidney transplant recipient and many times a competitor in Transplant & Dialysis international competition.
The event is organised by Transplant Sport Ireland and will begin at 10am on Sunday 7 July. All are welcome to go along and show their support for the men and women of the Irish team, who will be competing at the European championships in Lisbon during the week beginning Sunday 21 July.
Organ donors save lives. At any one time in Ireland there are between 550 and 600 people active on waiting lists for organ transplants including heart, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas. Making friends and family aware of your wishes on organ donation are the key steps towards saving lives — TSI encourages everyone to Have the Conversation, Say 'Yes' to Organ Donation!
