Deadline looms for Texaco Children's Art

Primary and second level schools are reminded that the closing date for receipt of entries for the Texaco Children's Art Competition is Wednesday 28 February 2024.

It is the 70th year of the competition which is widely acknowledged as the longest running arts sponsorship in Ireland.

Kilcullen young artists have regularly featured in recent years. In 2020, Della Cowper-Gray was one of four Kildare child artists to win an award, for her portrait The Mighty Finn. Della's younger sister Mae's portrait of her best friend, Ella Browne, with the title Missing Ella (Loneliness during Lockdown), won her a national category first prize in the 2021 Competition.

The competition is hosted by Valero Energy (Ireland) Limited – the company that markets fuel in Ireland under the Texaco brand.
