The passing of Patrick (Paddy) Gilligan

The Diary has learned of the death of Paddy Gilligan, Rosario, Naas Road, Kilcullen, and Curragh Lawn Nursing Home, on 25 July 2025 (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the nurses and doctors of the Blackrock Hospital. 

Paddy was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty. He is sadly missed by his loving children Sean, Teresa, Mary and Mark, daughters-in-law Aishling and Gill, sons-in-law Tom and Eamonn, his 15 adored grandchildren, brother Eddie, sisters Betty and Ann, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Paddy will be reposing at Anderson & Leahy's Funeral Home, Henry Street, Newbridge, on Monday from 4 pm with prayers at 5.30 pm and Removal at 6.15 pm to arrive at the Church of the Sacred Heart & St Brigid, Kilcullen for 7 pm. The funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 11 am. The Mass can be viewed at this link. Burial afterwards in New Abbey Cemetery, Kilcullen.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, can be made to The Irish Cancer Society, for which purpose there will be a donations box in the Church.
