Launch of Biodiversity Study and Plan

A Biodiversity Study and Plan to be launched this evening will focus on four areas within Kilcullen, writes Brian Byrne.

Commissioned by Kilcullen Community for Climate Action and funded by Community Foundation Ireland, the study will be revealed and discussed at Kilcullen Town Hall, beginning at 7.30pm.

The areas surveyed in the study by ecologist Nuala Madigan are the riverside Valley Park, Pinkeen Stream, a green area behind the Cattle Mart and a wild area behind Avondale.

The study details a representative sample of the flora and fauna biodiversity in the four areas, and offers a list of recommended actions to maintain and enhance the relevant habitats.
