White line to be extended on R412

A continuous white line on the R412 Brannockstown to Carnalway Cross road is to be extended following representations, writes Brian Byrne.

The request for an assessment for the change had been agreed by the January 2021 meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge MD following a motion by Cllr Tracey O’Dwyer, who said it was needed because motorists at the section consistently overtook residents trying to turn into their homes.

At the most recent meeting of the MD, the councillor asked for an update. She was told that the MD Office had agreed to extend the existing white line by 50 metres.
