Dancing with the Stars at Halverstown NS today
The pupils and staff at Halverstown NS had a real treat this morning when they welcomed Dancing with the Stars contestants Carl Mullan and Emily Barker to their school, writes Brian Byrne.
The pair got themselves a whole school full of fans as they provided an exclusive insight into what goes on behind the scenes of the hit RTE television show before everybody gets to see the programme aired live on Sunday nights. They also gave a sneak preview of what they'll be dancing on this coming Sunday.
As well as explaining the process of training and learning new routines, 2FM radio presenter Carl and pro dancer Emily also fielded questions from the children which ranged from 'Do you get to choose your dance partner?' (No) through 'Which dance have you found the most difficult?' (the Jive — Carl) to 'Who chooses your costume?' (Wardrobe Department).
It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning for all, with no normal classes (and, we suspect, no homework this weekend).
Some of the Diary's pictures are below, the rest can be seen here.
NOTE: The dancing pair also visited Scoil Bhride in Kilcullen.
