Narraghmore turns bad weather pink
They don't let a little rain worry them in Narraghmore — they're used to the vagaries of Irish weather scudding in across the plains of Kildare and up to their rising ground village home, writes Brian Byrne. So as the forecast rain from the west came in exactly on time, a substantial crowd set off at midday regardless, for the community's Pink Run 2022 in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland.
The sky was dark shades of grey but there was a strong pink glow around and in The Old Hardware as people from all age groups registered and fortified themselves with tea and baked treats before setting off.
Upstairs, the 'scones crew' were busy getting ready for when all the participants got back from their 5K or 10K circuit on the roads of the area, needing energy banks restored.
