Fatal motorway accident impacts Kilcullen traffic

A serious accident on the M7 motorway between junction 10 and 11 has caused northbound traffic to be diverted through Kilcullen in recent hours, writes Brian Byrne. 

A man in his 20s was killed in a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle. The incident happened at 4am.

The traffic lights in Kilcullen have been switched off and the junction is being managed by Gardai.

This will impact local traffic severely. Please be patient and careful.

Gardaí are appealing for motorists who may have stopped at the scene of the collision before emergency services arrived to contact them.
