Donncha O Duailing has passed away

The late Jim Collins and Donncha O Dualing.

The veteran RTE broadcaster Donncha O Duailing has died at the age of 88.

He is best remembered for his long-running Highways and Byways radio programmes where he visited virtually every town in Ireland, and later for his Saturday night presentations of Fáilte Isteach.

He is pictured above interviewing the late Jim Collins in September 2007, when he visited Kilcullen on one of his Holy Well Walks in aid of the Bothar charity.

He also undertook charity walks in the UK, France and Israel and among the Choctaw Indians in the US, who had contributed to the victims of the famine in Ireland in the 1840s.
