KWWSPCA Dog Show today at Punchestown
Just a reminder that the Kildare West Wicklow SPCA Wag & Bone Dog Show is taking place today, Sunday 5 September, in the parade ring of Punchestown Racecourse.
Registration starts at 1pm and the judging starts at 2pm. There is plenty of free parking and no charge to come to see the show, but there is a charge to enter a dog into a competition. No puppies under the age of nine months should be entered into any of the competitions.
Classes at the Show (€5 entry per class or €20 for 5 classes) are Waggiest Tail, Girl under 12 with a Dog, Boy under 12 with a Dog, Small Rescue Dog, Large Rescue Dog, Fanciest Female Dog, Handsomest Male Dog, Senior Citizen and a Dog, Veteran Dog (9 years and over), Fancy Dress – Dog & Owner, The Dog You Would Most Like to Take Home. The Winners will be chosen by Clapometer.
A KWWSPCA Rescue Dog class is restricted to dogs that have been adopted from the KWWSPCA or who are in the care of KWWSPCA waiting to be adopted
Other competitions include Dog Most Like its Owner, Child under 16 with Dog, and Open Class – for any Dog and Handler who has not won First,Second or Third in any of the previous classes.
The Best in Show will be chosen from amongst the winners of each of the above.
A High Jump competition will take place after the ‘Best in Show’ on the upper grass area. Pay as you enter — €2. There is one competition for small dogs and one for large dogs.
