New planters brighten the bridge

The first stage of Kilcullen in Bloom was put in place today with a new twist, in six specially-made planters placed on the bridge, writes Brian Byrne.

The planters were made by Ger Doyle, who helped KCA members Antoinette Buckley and Martin Sheridan put them in place.

The planters and their floral contents have been sponsored by the Burkes Pharmacy Group to the tune of €300, which has been very much welcomed by KCA given the restraints on fundraising of this time.

They were painted by Antoinette who also planted the flowers (she's known up here in Sunbury for her green fingers!), and her mum did a little artwork on two of them. Each planter has messages painted on it, making up Gáire Le Cheile on one side and Dóchas le Cheile on the other.

Dig back into your Primary School Irish ... they're the right messages for the moment.
