Application for 54-house development

A planning application for 54 new homes has been lodged for the Naas Road area, writes Brian Byrne.

The application by Knoxpark Developments Limited includes 2-, 3- and 4-bedroomed homes, behind the existing estate originally built by George Brown.

The plans include linking access through the adjoining estate, as well as providing a new pedestrian access to the main road.

The original estate was built in the 1970s, leaving the bulk of the originally planned site with services and infrastructure in place.

A proposed dezoning of the the land from Residential to Agriculture in the Kilcullen Draft Local Area Plan was reversed in 2014 when amendments were being made to the plan.

The new application is at pre-validation stage.
