A fine weather support morning for Kildare Rose Emer

There was a very strong turnout for Kildare's Rose of Tralee contestant, Emer Fogarty from Kilgowan, whose family hosted a fundraising event this morning, writes Brian Byrne. Proceeds were in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation.

If her chances of winning depended on the state of the weather today in Kilgowan, and level of good wishes she received, well, the Fogartys have everything in great shape.

Before arriving in Tralee on 19 August, there's a string of events local and national she has to attend, including the Galway Races. A number of appearances for Emer and other Roses are also scheduled for around Kildare.
