Clean sweep at Frankfurt for Nolan's

James Nolan was today presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award by the German Butchers Association at the IFFA 2019 in Frankfurt, writes Brian Byrne.

Accepting the award from Herbert Dohrmann, President of the Association, and Eckhart Neun, Vice President, James emphasised that it was an award for the whole team at the Kilcullen business.

Products from the Nolan's team also won six gold medals today at the event, which is colloquially known as 'World Cup Finals for Craft Butchers'.

The medals today included one for Noel Lambe’s Irish Breakfast Roll, which previously won the 2018 ACBI Best New Innovative Meat Product. Dermott Mitchell followed up winning the Irish National Spiced Beef title in 2017 by winning Gold for his speciality in Germany.

Emily Behan and Colin Behan, who previously won Best Festive Food Product in Ireland at the Fins Goustiers Awards in France in 2018 for their Low Salt Home Baked Orange & Clove Ham, also took gold in Frankfurt.

The International Judging panel noted the top class presentations from Team Nolan’s — James said Marc Behan deserves all the credit for this with his 'incredible attention to detail and finesse'.

Thursday’s wins follows on from Tuesday where Team Nolan’s won another three Gold Medals.
