Costing for Pinkeen bridge being assessed

A full costing for the provision of a pedestrian bridge at Pinkeen Stream is to be investigated by local Fine Gael candidate in the May elections Tracey O'Dwyer, with the assistance of Deputy Martin Heydon, writes Brian Byrne.

This follows an indication to them from the Council's town manager that some grant aid may be considered for the project, which the authority says it doesn't have the financial resources or manpower to build in its entirety.

The candidate and Deputy Heydon have also had a meeting with representatives of the Community Centre on the matter. "It's a matter which has impacted on residents of Cnoc na Greine and Castlemartin for some considerable time," Tracey says, "and if elected I will be pursuing a resolution on their behalf."
