Rocks sourced for Pinkeen

Rocks to improve the swirl effect of the water flow in Pinkeen stream have been sourced from Kilsaran, writes Brian Byrne.

A lorry with a grab will have to be hired to collect them, the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action heard from chairman Ray Kelly.

He also said that an application for a waterways grant is aimed at helping with such expenses, and for signage for the stream project.

Noel Clare said it is hoped that the rocks will cause the flow of the water to deal with silt, which has been building up again since the stream was dredged last year.

Ann Cashman mentioned a wicker feature in a stream in Naas near Monaghans Hotel, and suggested it be looked at with a view of getting ideas for something similar at Pinkeen.
