Fair City actor a 'Hero' at the Moat next week

A play at the Moat Theatre in Naas next week will give people a chance to see Fair City actor Daithí Mac Suibhne in a quite different role, writes Aoife Brennan of the Moat.

‘Hero’ is an original work by writer Ken Rogan, about one man’s struggles with love. Life quickly grows more complicated for Smithy (Mac Suibhne) after a chance encounter with Marissa. A fiery soccer player, Smithy lusts after the woman of his dreams, but unfortunately for him, she already has a boyfriend. This is one man's hilarious, down to earth odyssey through love, ankle injuries and what happens when you don't know how to lose.

Daithí Mac Suibhne is currently appearing as Emmet O'Brien in Fair City and featured in one of the show’s main storyline this year about a cult and a power crazed villain taking Emmet and his friends hostage.

He was also a series regular in seasons 19 and 20 of the popular Irish-language soap opera, Ros na Rún for TG4 along with roles in Éirí Amach Amú (Wrecking the Rising), Corp+Anam 2 and Scúp.

‘Hero’ is on at the Moat on Thursday 27 September, at 8pm. Ticket are €14 and available from the website www.moattheatre.com or by calling 045 883030.
