Great War banner in place
The banner commissioned by the Kilcullen Great War Commemorative Group was erected today in the Market Square, writes Noel Clare.
Pictured are Gerry and Julie O'Donoghue (on right), and Frank Mitchell (on left). Also there was Martha Brophy, whose father was one of the veterans of WW1.
The banner was designed by local artist Kieran Behan, and had its public debut at last Thursday evening's very successful 'Memories Night' in Kilcullen Community Library.
The activities of the Kilcullen Great War Commemoration Group are supported by a heritage grant from Kildare County Council.
