Work to start soon on Convent garden

Preparatory work on landscaping the garden area behind the CPC wall on Main Street will begin in the first week of August, writes Brian Byrne.

The latest meeting of Kilcullen Community Action was told that the work will include digging up the old path behind the wall and replacing it with garden areas and a new path route. A full plan for the landscaping has been devised.

The garden will be officially named to commemorate the work of the Cross & Passion nuns who originated what is now Cross & Passion College.

It's hoped to have a Community Work Day in the second half of August, where local people can help to finish the detail of the garden.

Funding towards the garden development has been committed by Kilcullen Development Association.
