Queries on Hillcrest line

An unsatisfactory response to queries to Kildare County Council about the Hillcrest Court development was discussed at the recent Kilcullen Community Action meeting.

Ray Kelly said that the line of the development did not appear to be as on the original plans, making the road narrower than it should be.

The meeting heard that the buildings, and the new footpaths, were all supposed to be inside the line of the original stone wall.

Ray Kelly said he had written to the council twice and visited the planning department on two occasions.

"The only people I seem to get are 'down the ladder', who say 'someone will be in touch'," he reported. "But nobody is answering my questions."

Niall McDonnell said there is now a form in the council for individuals to report unauthorised developments. "But it requires you to sign it to the effect that you'll be prepared to go to court," he noted.

Ray Kelly commented that trying to contact the 'unauthorised development' section of the council is 'difficult'.
