The South Kildare Macra Club is now officially up and running, with 25 members getting together at the recent first meeting, writes Brian Byrne.
The Club will be hosting its first fundraiser, at Conlans of Booleigh for a Race Night on Saturday 28 March, also on the same night it will be hosting the counties festivals night, with judging starting at 8pm
There will be a DJ, finger food, snooker and lots of fun prizes in the raffle.

Simon Dann is the new Secretary of Kilcullen Trout & Salmon Anglers Association, writes Brian Byrne.
He replaces Liam Stenson, who has resigned from the position after many years as club Secretary.
The Association has expressed its thanks to Liam for all his years of hard work and dedication.

Kildare Toastmasters Club Open Night takes place on Tuesday January 24th, 2012, writes Mary Reynolds from that organisation. Guests and visitors are very welcome.

Kilcullen Community Centre has set up a website which details the facilities, history of its development, and links to affiliated clubs and groups, writes Brian Byrne.
The Centre was built in 1982 by the community, on land donated by the sisters of the Cross & Passion order.
The website includes a selection of historic photographs, many taken at key moments in the history of the Centre.

KiYC Kilcullen Parish Youth Club will hold a Cake & Craft Fair in the Parish Centre this weekend.
The times are Saturday 26 12-6pm, and Santa will attend between 4-6pm, and Sunday 27 10-2pm.

Kilcullen GAA's new website is nearing completion.
With a very smart interface, it will offer complete information on the local club's activities, including fixture lists, teams and match reports.
There are also a range of local and national GAA links, as well as local and county community and news links.
The club has been without a website for some time, and has depended on its Facebook page to keep members and supporters up to date with what's happening.

The SUAS knitting group will get a direct report tomorrow morning about a project in Bethlehem which they are helping.
The SUAS ladies are knitting premature baby packs for a hospital in the Palestinian city, and a member of the hospital's board, Peta Taffe, will give them a talk on the situation there.
The Transition Year students from CPC will also be discussing the matter with Ms Taffe, as they are working on a project to highlight here the plight of the Palestinian people under the current Israeli regime in the region.

At the Kilcullen GAA Awards Night held in Lumville House last Friday, Darren Barker was awarded the Senior Player of the Year title. The Junior title went to Kevin Fagan.
The Ladies Senior title was won by Zainab Afolabi, while the Ladies Minor was scooped by Aoibhinn Smith.
Jennifer Shortt was declared the Club Person of the Year.
The players from the winning Keogh Cup, Intermediate B and Ladies Minor teams were also presented with their medals on the night.

Kilcullen Juvenile Badminton Club is hosting a 'Christmas Fare' fundraiser on December 11 in aid of the St Vincent de Paul Society.
The event begins at 11am and will run until 2pm, at Kilcullen Community Centre.
On sale will be books, bric a brac, cakes, mince pies and tea & coffee. There will also be face painting and a raffle.
All funds raised will go to the local branch of St VdeP. The charity needs help more than ever this year because of the economic circumstances. Please help all you can.

Kilcullen GAA U/15 Girls who recently won their County Final were presented with their medals this evening in the Clubhouse.
The presentations were made by Peter Kelly, All Star and County player from Two Mile House GAA.
