Have your say on Garda priorities
A public consultation until 20 June lets people say what they think should be the priorities for policing in their community, writes Brian Byrne. Anyone over 16 can take part.
The Policing and Community Safety Authority (PCSA) is running the survey online. Participants can anonymously allocate points to important areas. It should take about 10 minutes to complete. There’s an opportunity for additional comments at the end.
The PCSA, established last month, is an independent, statutory agency that oversees and assesses An Garda Síochána’s policing services in an independent and transparent manner. It’s a successor to the Policing Authority and Garda Síochána Inspectorate and will also play a Community Safety role in ensuring people in Ireland feel safe in their local communities.
