Racing ducks on sale Friday, Saturday

Kilcullen Lions Club members will be 'selling' ducks for €5 a go outside Eurospar tomorrow, Friday, and again on Saturday morning, writes Brian Byrne. They will also be selling during the Family Fairy Trail Day on Saturday afternoon before the Duck Race at 4pm finishes the event. 

Meanwhile, new work by artist Cian Mekitarian, sponsored by KCA/Tidy Towns, has been completed on the fairy house, ready to brighten up the Valley for the family fun day which runs from 12 noon.

Some more artwork by Cian will be revealed in the coming weeks in the Valley in a project helped by Jonathan Keogh.

"These amazing projects are funded by Kildare County Council, Kildare Credit Union, and the community’s generous donations," says Antoinette Buckley. "Kilcullen is a vibrant community with amazing volunteers and we thank them all."

Proceeds from the Duck Race will go to St John's Oncology Ward in Crumlin Hospital and to local charities in the Kilcullen area.
