The Kildare Association of New York is a benevolent organisation set up to encourage socialisation and support for American immigrants originating from County Kildare. The association became one of the first such to officially file, on September 3 1896 and is still going strong today. Their official banner is a portrait depicting St Brigid next to the round tower of Kildare.
Another local involvement is that the Recording Secretary of the Kildare Association is Kilcullen native Sandra Kunzle nee Sandra Shortt.
