Drama group preparing Lieutenant of Inishmore

The Kilcullen Drama Group's spring 2025 presentation will be The Lieutenant of Inishmore, written by Martin McDonagh, writes Brian Byrne. The play will run from 24-26 April at the Town Hall Theatre.

The play is set in 1993 when a self-styled lieutenant in the INLA, Mad Padraic, returns from Belfast to his native Inishmore and is told that his beloved cat has been killed. His subsequent actions seeking revenge are the core of a typical McDonagh black comedy, with a twist in the tail ... and the tale.
