Cloak on the Moat returns for Bank Holiday
The Cloak on the Moat celebration of St Brigid returns to the Moat of Ardscull on Monday 3 February, hosted by Narraghmore's community choir Village Voices.
A celebration of St Brigid through music, song, dance and folklore, the choir will be joined on stage with guest artists Joseph Gorman, Kevin Morrin, Margaret Brennan and Paul Linehan. Local historian Colm Flynn will regale in folklore, Athy Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Éireann will entertain and also joining in will be the St Laurence’s Set Dancers and the Kilmead Irish Figure Dance Class.
The afternoon begins at 2pm and is a free event for all the family. No booking is required. There is also a prize for the best dressed St Brigid.
As it is an outdoor event, those attending are advised to please dress appropriately and bring a chair or blanket for extra comfort.
The Moat of Ardscull is on the R418, near the village of Kilmead.
