New folk music album launch

A memorable night of folk music is promised for next Sunday night at the Clanard Court Hotel in Athy when singer-songwriter Joseph Gorman launches a new album, The Modern Irish Ballad.

The event kicks off at 8pm and is a free but ticketed one, with tickets available to be collected at the hotel in advance. A small number of tickets will be available at the door on the night.

The album features a mix of well-known ballads and original ones penned by Joseph, including The Most Romantic Town in Ireland and Sweet County Kildare.

Support acts for the evening include Kilcullen's Enda Byrne, male 4-part harmony group Aisnéan, and uileann piper Joe Byrne.

CDs will be on sale at €15 on the night.
