Shamrocks U16s win county shield
In a highly entertaining and very competitive Shield final, South Kildare Shamrocks eventually got over the line to earn their reward for never giving up, writes Martin Sheridan. Final score Shamrocks 3-11, Milltown/Sarsfield 4-6.
With the Shamrocks trailing at half-time by a point 1-5 to 2-3, the second half ebbed and flowed in every direction for both teams. Tadhg Giblin's goal gave the Shamrocks the belief to push on and fight until the very end. Praise is deserved by all the lads for persisting with their love for hurling and pushing on even when things are not going for them.
Thanks to all the parents for your patience and for bringing them to training and matches.
Don't forget, the U14 hurling team are playing Broadford next Sunday morning at 10.30am in Kilcullen in the county semi-final. All support appreciated.
