Chris Pender launches general election campaign

Newbridge-based Cllr Chris Pender has launched his campaign for the general election expected to be announced shortly, writes Brian Byrne. He is in his second term as a Social Democrats councillor, and is running for a Kildare South seat in the next Dáil.
At his campaign launch last night he was described as a "tireless, dedicated, and passionate candidate" by Sarah Walsh, Chairperson of the Social Democrats Kildare South branch. Gary Gannon, TD for Dublin Central, called him "a wonderful, decent human being" whose relentless advocacy stems from a place of deep conviction.
Cllr Pender’s campaign will focus on the housing crisis, access to healthcare — particularly mental health and addiction services — and expanding public transport options, as well as ensuring that community safety remains a top priority.
