New art exhibition at Riverbank
A mixed media art workshop will be hosted in Riverbank Arts Centre in late October by artist Kym Tracey, writes Brian Byrne. Her first solo exhibition opens at the Centre this Friday, 6 September.
The recipient of the Emerging Visual Artist Bursary Award 2023, the artist's What’s The Occasion? is an engaging exhibition which showcases a collection of original paintings, drawings and sculptures, inspired by celebrations and occasions.
Kym’s artworks are both contemporary and nostalgic. Initially taking shape through collage, she uses photo-transfer techniques to create unique compositions. From these she then creates original works in a unique painterly style. Visitors to the exhibition can expect a feast of colour, and a fresh take on memory through real and imagined moments in time.
All are welcome to the official opening at 7pm on Friday and the exhibition will run until Saturday 26 October.
The workshop will be on the evening of Friday 25 October.
