Kilcullen badminton player in European Transplant Games
Best of luck to Robbie England from the Kilcullen Badminton Club who is a member of Team Ireland in the European Transplant Championships in Lisbon in the week from 21 July, writes KBC's Katie Daffy.
This is a great achievement for Robbie who will represent Ireland in singles badminton and will be proudly flying the country's (and club's) colours.
Robbie received a kidney transplant in 2022, donated by his brother Mark after being on dialysis for three years from the age of 33. His kidneys had previously been gradually failing following a diagnosis when he was 20.
Robbie, who lives in Naas, is pictured above with his wife Gillian and dad David. Below he's seen receiving his team cap last Sunday from hurling legend Brian Cody.
