Local and EP elections 2024 start


The Local and European Parliament elections 2024 are now underway, writes Brian Byrne. Polling stations are open from 7am and will close at 10pm this evening. 
Kilcullen's Polling Station is Scoil Bhride NS. There are 3,112 people registered to vote in Kilcullen. UPDATE: With an hour to go before the polls close, the turnout in Kilcullen is 44.1pc, from 27.2pc at 6pm, 21.2pc at 4pm, 12.9pc at lunchtime and 3.9pc by 9.30am.
The candidates for Election 2024 Newbridge LEA are James Stokes and Terri Thorpe (SF), Cllr Robert Power and Cllr Noel Heavey (FF), Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer and Cllr Peggy O'Dwyer (FG), Cllr Chris Pender (SocDem), Ronan Maher (GP), Aina Conway (LAB), James Garvin (IND), Melissa Byrne (Aontu), Christoir MacCormaic, Tom O'Donnell and Leanne Ní Neill (all IND).
