Good turnout for GAA kit fundraiser

With 31 runners and walkers on the track this afternoon, and 14 out with injury who will be doing their own bit next week, this afternoon's Walk-Run fundraiser by Kilcullen GAA is a definite success, writes Brian Byrne. The event was to raise funds for kit and equipment for the club’s young footballers and hurlers.
It was a perfect afternoon for it, held at the club's training pitch near the Community Centre. With warmup exercises, a well-signed track, and even a timing clock for each participant to see how they were going after each of the nine laps made it a very professional outing.
"From U9s to adults and even some people who had nothing at all to do with the club, it was a good day," said organiser Maurice O'Brien, who will be sending in a full report of the results in due course.
