Easter art 'surprise' from KCA
Brigid to remain until after Patrick's Day. |
As previously reported, Easter bunnies Maggie and Fred will not be returning to Kilcullen this year, but there will be a festive art installation, writes Brian Byrne.
The March open meeting of Kilcullen Community Action heard that artist Pat Munnelly has been commissioned to provide a 'surprise' piece, to be installed as usual outside the former bank building near the bridge.
Eoin Houlihan also said that an Easter wreath will be provided on the Cross and Passion gates at the crossroads. "They'll be here shortly after the St Patrick's weekend," he promised. It was decided that the St Brigid art piece currently on the gates (above) can remain until the Easter one arrives.
The February meeting had been informed that the Maggie and Fred artwork used in recent years was no longer in good enough condition to use.
