Dream Horse is next cinema screening
A reminder that the next film screening in Kilcullen Bridge Cinema is Dream Horse, on this coming Wednesday night 13 March, writes Brian Byrne. It's the true story of a Welsh bartender who decided to breed and race a horse, and with her husband formed a friends and acquaintances syndicate to race it successfully.
The horse was Dream Alliance, bred on a family allotment and subsequently, despite injuries and form dips, managing to bring home an overall profit to his owners.
The movie stars Toni Collette and Damien Lewis and promises to be feel-good and fun, and even if you're not into horses — it is being shown during Cheltenham Week — a story of a sports underdog is always inspirational.
Doors open 7.30pm. Film 8pm. All tickets are €7 and are available in Woodbine Books and on Eventbrite.
Also, the next family cinema is on Friday 29 March with two screening. Peter Rabbit is at 11am for the younger ones, while the 2pm show is Steven Spielberg’s iconic film ET. All tickets for family cinema are €4.
