A Seminar organised for Kilcullen Town Hall on Saturday 2 December will focus on a number of aspects of Kildare heritage, writes Brian Byrne.
Organised by the County Kildare Heritage Unit, the free event will include an introduction to the Unit, the findings of a Kildare Hedgerow Survey carried out in 2022, and an update on Architectural projects carried out by KCC in 2023.
Kilcullen-based Conservation Architect Laura Bowen will detail the rethatching of Thomastown Cottage, and updates on Kildare Heritage projects and Biodiversity projects in the county will be given by KCC Heritage Officer Bridget Loughlin and Biodiversity Officer Dr Maebh Boylan respectively.
Details of a survey on the Holy Wells of Kildare will be provided by Antoine Giacometti, and the Cathaoirleach of the Council Darragh Fitzpatrick will launch a new publication, Holy Wells of Co Kildare.
Booking is required for attendance at the seminar, by emailing heritage@kildarecoco.ie.
